Abstract
U radu su, najvećim dijelom na primjeru baze podataka, opisane neke osnovne funkcionalne karakteristike sustava za upravljanje bazama podataka IBM DB2. Navedene su osnovne informacije o sustavu, karakteristike prema kojima se ističe te je ukratko opisana njegova arhitektura. Opisan je postupak kreiranja i povezivanja tablica, njihova postavljanja na poslužitelj, reverznog inženjerstva, kreiranja indeksa te brisanja objekata baze podataka. Opisan je i postupak manipulacije podacima (umetanje,... More ažuriranje i brisanje) te postavljanja upita pri čemu su još objašnjeni jednostavni i složeni upiti te podupiti, grupiranje, pogledi i okidači. Opisi navedenih postupaka odnose se na njihovu realizaciju pomoću alata IBM Data Studio, tj. alata koji omogućuje korištenje funkcionalnih karakteristika IBM DB2 sustava pomoću intuitivnog grafičkog sučelja.
