Abstract
Tema ovog rada je kongruencije u informatici. Teorija kongruencija jedna je od temelja teorije brojeva koju je uveo matematičar Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss. Ovaj rad u uvodu sadrži kratku povijest o Gaussu i njegovom djelu u kojem je opisao kongruencije. Prvo poglavlje prolazi kroz temeljnu teoriju vezanu za kongruencije; definicije, neka osnovna svojstva koja vrijede i opće informacije te primjere. Kasnija poglavlja obuhvaćaju teme klasa ostataka i sustave ostataka, Eulerov i Mali Fermatov teorem, linearne kongruencije i rješavanje sustava linearnih kongruencija te Kineski teorem o ostacima. Zadnje teorijsko poglavlje sadrži opise nekih primjena kongruencija u području informatike. Što se tiče praktičnog dijela, programiranje primjera odrađeno je u programskom jeziku Python.
