Abstract
Biometrijski osobni identifikacijski dokumenti, za razliku od klasičnih, pružaju puno veći stupanj sigurnosti. Sa sigurnosnog aspekta se prvenstveno misli na autentifikaciju i identifikaciju osobe koja nosi dokument. Samim time omogućuju puno bolju kontrolu državnih granica kod prelaska i migracije stanovništva, isto tako olakšavaju kontrolu unutar granica zemlje za državnu upravu. Biometrijski osobni identifikacijski dokumenti su strojno čitljivi, pa olakšavaju i ubrzavaju administrativne poslove u prometu osobnih identifikacijskih dokumenata.
