Abstract	Progress OpenEdge ABL ili OpenEdge Advanced Business Language je poslovni programski jezik za razvoj aplikacija kreiran od strane korporacije Progress Software Corporation. Jezik se smatra jezikom 4. generacije programskih jezika, te koristi englesku sintaksu za jednostavno i brzo razvijanje poslovnih aplikacija. Progress OpenEdge platforma je aplikacijsko razvojno okruženje sa integriranim sustavom za upravljanjem bazama podataka s kojim je moguće upravljati Progress OpenEdge bazama podataka, no isto tako je moguće spajanje i na ostale baze podataka, te uz ABL nema potrebe za korištenjem SQL upita. Kroz rad će biti opisan kratak povijesni razvoj i pregled OpenEdge ABL jezika , karakteristike OpenEdge ABL jezika i karakteristike OpenEdge sustava. Bit će demonstrirano upravljanje OpenEdge bazom podataka, te primjena OpenEdge ABL jezika sa OpenEdge bazom podataka. Bit će prikazan rad u OpenEdge alatima, te kako u OpenEdge ABL jeziku funkcioniraju osnovne CRUD operacije nad tablicama u bazi. Isto tako će biti prikazane ostale funkcionalnosti i specifičnosti OpenEdge ABL jezika. Na kraju će se istražiti mogućnost izrade primjera skladišta podataka, te povezivanja baze podataka sa izvještajnim alatom za analizu podataka, te ostale mogućnosti za izradu izvještaja.
