Abstract

Rad se bavi zasnivanjem modela u XML-u koji bi poslužio za evaluaciju biometrijskih karakteristika te olakšao i pojednostavio odabir najprikladnije karakteristike/sustava određenoj organizaciji. Rad je u osnovi podijeljen na dva dijela. Prvi dio odnosi se na proučavanje tematike s ciljem pobližeg upoznavanja problematike, uz potrebu uvođenja i zasnivanja modela evaluacije biometrijskih sustava u XML-u. Drugi dio odnosi se na pregled postojećih standarda za evaluaciju biometrijskih sustava, te temeljem njihovih rezultata i kategorizacije, zasnivanje modela evaluacije biometrijskih sustava u XML-u. Rad je nastao na ideji i prepoznatoj potrebi postojanja unificiranog modela procjene biometrijskih sustava. Prema definiranom modelu, svaki proizvođač bi mogao rezultate evaluacije opisati XML-om, učiniti ih javno dostupnima te zainteresiranim stranama pružiti mogućnost usporedbe s podatcima evaluacije drugih proizvođača. Time je omogućeno provođenje evaluacije te određivanje najprikladnijeg i najprihvatljivijeg biometrijskog sustava za primjenu u određenoj organizaciji s obzirom na njene specifičnosti i potrebe.

Abstract (english)

The thesis is focused on establishing the evaluation model in XML that could be used for evaluation of biometric characteristics/systems and to facilitate and simplify the selection of the most appropriate biometric system for a specific organization. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part refers to the study of the topic with the need of introducing and establishing an evaluation model of biometric systems in XML. The second part refers to the overview of existing standards for the evaluation of biometric systems, and based on those results and categorization, the establishment of the evaluation model for biometric systems in XML. This thesis is based on the idea, and recognized need, for a unified evaluation model of biometric systems. Per the defined model, each manufacturer could describe the results of the evaluation in XML, make them available to the public and interested parties so they could have the possibility to compare with data evaluation of other manufacturers. This allows the implementation of the evaluation and determination of the most appropriate and most acceptable biometric system for use in a specific organization in accordance with its specific needs.
